Script Guide Installation Crashes

Post by catplace »

Hi. I've just installed X7 (not ultimate)—except for PSPX7_ScriptGuide.exe, which crashes (see attached images).

Installation of all other X7 components went fine. The software is registered.

I redownloaded the offending file three times (from two different locations). File size is 7,262,944 bytes.

I tried to run the file on three separate computers (two are Win7-64; one is Vista-32), with exactly the same result on all.

I tried installing in safe mode. Same result.

I tried disabling the firewall and anti-virus. Same result.

I'm thinking that the file is defective. Has anybody got it to install successfully? Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks!

Wow, thanks Radim! :)

I definitely had the correct file. It's just a mystery why it won't install on ANY of my computers.

I downloaded the .zip and it seems fine. I note that it's only about one-tenth the size of the .exe, even after unpacking. Perhaps the rest of the .exe is just installation code. Is that your belief?

Many thanks again; I'm most grateful for your help.
