I am so confused

Post by bec717 »

Yesterday I purchased PSP X7 Ultimate- rec'd an email with the links and key numbers. I could not get it to install- as it kept telling me a version was already on (never owned a Corel product at all and may never again after this) so as instructed deleted all, tried again, install and same thing, so did 2 system point restores and contacted Corel and they sent me a link and told me it is all bundled together with After Shot 2 and gave me a link to use. Well I have After Shot 2 but that is not PSP7 correct?????

So I find the program PSP X7 in my program files and same thing- already have a previous version, delete download (which is not in my download folder) and re-install.

I have sent all screen shots to Corel and to no avail no help.

Is After Shot and PSP X7 the same program or am I totally confused?

Thanks!

PSP X7 and Aftershot Pro 2 are two very different and separate programmes and serial numbers for one will not work in the other.

I have never seen Aftershot and Paintshop offered in a bundle (but that does not mean that such offers do not exist) - sometimes VideoStudio and Paintshop Pro are offered together in one bundle, but again will have different serial numbers for each programme

Thanks, I have called, I contacted support, I sent screen shots of the entire install process, used their install link via purchase email, they confirmed the purchased key is correct then open icon and (see attached photo) I am so disappointed with this company and support.

I informed them the PSP7 Ultimate that I purchased would not install and this is the response from Corel

Dear Ms.

Thank you for contacting Corel Customer Support.

The serial number (AF02R22-(deleted info by me) for your Corel AfterShot 2 is correct and should work in the installation of this program.

Our PaintShop Pro X7 is currently bundled with Standard edition (not Pro) of AfterShot 2 due to the limited time promo. Its serial number is not applicable for activating of trial version of AfterShot Pro 2 from our website.

To make sure your system has the correct program version, kindly remove first the currently installed program in your system then delete the AfteShot installers in your computer's 'Download' folder to avoid the confusion when installing. And, download the installer from your confirmation email and use it for the installation of After Shot 2.

You may download your Corel AfterShot 2 installer(s) again from either of the following links:

AfterShot 2 - 32bit

AfterShot 2 - 64bit

The above links are set to be active until Nov. 30, 2014.

If issue still persists, kindly send us the screen capture of the error message showing the entered serial number in its background. You may attach the file(s) on your response to this email so we could report this to our engineering team for replacement.

In Windows system, you can create screen capture image using Windows Paint. To do this:

1. Press Print Screen key in the keyboard.
2. Press then hold the Windows key, type 'R'.
3. In Run window, type: MSPAINT then press Enter key.
4. Select Paste in the program's Edit menu.
5. Save your image in JPG format.

Since you have your software is purchased as download version, we highly recommend to have backup copies of your installer file(s), just in case you need to reinstall the program again in the future. You may do this by either burning them into DVD(s) or copying into a dedicated USB external drives for data and software installers.

If we have satisfactorily addressed your concerns, kindly close the case from your end. To close, please login in your account in Corel, click on 'Support cases' option under Support panel. Then, select 'Close' right after the related Case or support ticket.
Also, please take a few minutes of your time to fill out the survey presented to you upon the closure of this case.

Your feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Please let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance.

Regards,
Nelson

I think I'd be requesting my money back and start over. You could go around in circles with this one.

He is giving you information for AfterShot. I didn't realise that PSP was bundled with AS. Corel keep chopping and changing so it's no wonder there's mixups.

After wasting several hours of my time and trying to even get help and then requesting all my $$ back and never buying again, a rep from Canada finally called- he ended up with a remote to discover that my copy had no license attached and the idiot who told me that the programs were bundled was so off based. I sent screen shots of the entire installation process/programs, the icon and then the error message that told me the program was corrupt or tampered with. Geessh, this is the first Coral product I have ever purchased and not sure I ever want another!!

And to think all I wanted to do was watermark my photos and add frames with a nice program! I was doing them on my iphone with free aps and then emailing and my hubs told me to just purchase a nice editing program!!

Thanks all for the help!!

Aha, so you did not purchase from Corel.
Where did you attempt to purchase the program from? There are a lot of cheap possibly pirated copy vendors out there, so when purchasing software it is often best policy to purchase from the original source.

Helps to prevent a lot of confusion as in your case and wasted time just to save a few dollars.

The program is cheap enough already with all the sales going on especially upgrades.
Since X7 is the most recent, you may be able to get a very cheap X6 boxed version from some computer dealers, making sure that it is original box of course.

Yes I purchased from Corel.com!

It was a Corel issue from their download- they sent me the link via my email and that is what I used!
