Change Image/Color Duration

Post by dstringh »

In VS 8.0, you could select all slides, then go to clips, Change Image/Color Duration, and adjust the time for all slides or clips (I make movies out of images). In VS 9, Change Image/Color Duration only appears when one clip is selected, but is greyed out (unavailable) when more than one is selected. Is this functionality gone? Is there some other approach??

Using VS 9 i see the change image duration available for one or more clips.
I do not have a problem selecting multiple clips

It seems to work as VS 8

I don't know whether someone is a little confused here - you can't do it with clips - never could not even in V8 - how would UVS know which part of the clip you wanted to keep. You can do it with images both in V8 and V9 - but not if there is a clip in the timeline as well. but that aside I can still select - shift+select all clips/images in the timeline in V9. if you can't even do that bit there must be an error in your programme.

Its not a clip in the timeline.

By clip we mean Clip in the main toolbar File-Edit-Clip-Tool

Change Image/Color Duration

Sorry bout that. I use photos (jpgs) and create a movie. I set the time for each (5 seconds or so). Then once I have the music set, I can adjust the time of each photo by selecting all images, and then clips/change image, etc. That is not there for some reason when all are selected, just for one.

I found the problem

Thanks for the thoughts and help. I found a few others and they all worked, so I knew it had to be me. I found the difference was that I had enabled ripple editing.

Thanks for coming back with that information - that's something else I've learn't today.
