OPENCL cannot be enabled with intel GPU
Hi, I found OpenCL cannot be enabled on intel GPUs when one use Ubuntu 14.04 (latest).
Installation of newest intel drivers via Intel installer does not help. Option to enable OpenCL is greyed out.

Re: OPENCL cannot be enabled with intel GPU
Same with me GeForce GTX 750 Ti with nVidia 340.65 drivers on Ubuntu 14.10. The OpenCL checkbox is disabled.

Re: OPENCL cannot be enabled with intel GPU
Same with NVIDIA GT630 and latest OFFICIAL Nvidia drivers. Corel stated in their PDF that there is "OpenCL support with all main-stream GPUs" so... is it lie and should we demand refund? Waiting for the official answer.
Re: OPENCL cannot be enabled with intel GPU
I managed to get it working by switching the GPU scaling to performance under the nvidia-settings tool. Going off the top of my head so those terms may not be 100% accurate with what the tool presents them as. I'll post screenshots later.

Re: OPENCL cannot be enabled with intel GPU
Hmm I just tried it and it did NOT help so... did you have to reboot after setting high-performance?
Re: OPENCL cannot be enabled with intel GPU
I messed around with versions too, looks like I'm on 340.65. Make sure you re-launch ASP after making that change, probably need to click apply or ok within nvidia-settings as well.Tommy_CZ wrote:Hmm I just tried it and it did NOT help so... did you have to reboot after setting high-performance?

Re: OPENCL cannot be enabled with intel GPU
On m Ubuntu 14.04 Notebook with an Nvidia Quadro NVS 4200M, OpenCL is available.
I do run the latest Nvidia drivers.
For those where OpenCL is not available, ow about checking with some reference program whether the system even supplies it?
I did run in some silly issues in the past where OpenCL should have worked but some libs on the system where missing.
cheers

Re: OPENCL cannot be enabled with intel GPU
I have the following packages installed:
Looks like I just toggled my nvidia-settings back to auto and OpenCL stuck, so that might not have been the fix after all. Another thing to try, install both the 32 and 64bit ASP. I installed the 32bit to see if that would fix the issue I was seeing in the 64bit version, have both installed now and OpenCL is working.
Code: Select all
$ dpkg -l |grep opencl |grep ii

ii ocl-icd-libopencl1:amd64 2.1.3-5 amd64 Generic OpenCL ICD Loader

Re: OPENCL cannot be enabled with intel GPU
In Ubuntu 14.04(.2 and .3) it seems to be WORKAROUNDed by enabling *NOT REALLY* stable CUDA repository and installation of whole CUDA package then.
But I do not see any difference, AfterShotPro2 still shows photos from Pentax incorrectly, still makes noise where is no noise and still it crashes and freezes frequently.
I haven't seen product with so many bugs so long after release and such a bad support like this. Never.
