I tried to upgrade to SP4, after doing that, WinDVD does no longer work. The EULA flashes briefly then nothing more happens. I have tried to completely uninstall the program, the reinstall it with the latest update. No difference.
Help please. Anyone have a suggestion?

and welcome to the forums, sorry you are having problems....
Have you tried re-installing your original purchased version of the program, are you able to do that.
Then use the Check for Updates to see what is available.

I can install with the original installer, then I use the SP4 (11.7) upgrade file from the support page.
No error messages. When I try to start the program, the EULA flashes and disappears and the program never starts.
Could this be some incompatibility with the whole Corel vs sMedio change?
sMedio offers upgrades to the Corel versions. Could this be the issue?

I know we are having some reports of problems with Win DVD service packs.
Can you contact Corel Support, I expect your free support has expired, Contact Corel via their Facebook account, at least you will receive replies from Corel employees
There are other posts where a Corel employee has replied maybe contact him.

SP4 downlaod does not work. It download but after a couple of minutes nothing happen and it disappeard. Is there a way to validate if SP4 was installed ? One thing sure, is that I still receive the message "your display environment does not support protected content playback".
