mp4 4support from tvs?

mp4 4support from tvs?
i have the next issue:i create with VS X7 mpeg 2(HD) files and playing fine in sony bravia led tv(model 2012).but the video are TWO LARGE!!some videos wont saved in my blueray disks or in my usb.the size is ,sometimes bigger than 40 GB!!!ii wonder if i convert to HDMP4: playing from tv?i noticed that the mp4 create much smaller files that mpeg 2.but is compatible with NEWER TV?VS X7 ''TOLD'' me in share option to choose mpeg2 for playing in tv.if mp4 supported from my tv which format should choose ?MP4 with H.264 or MPEG4?i want the same quality (like mpeg2 do)with the smallest size

I don't know how VS "told" you to produce mpeg-2 to play on your TV... but yes, just about every modern HDTV will play mpeg-4, regardless of whether it is produced using AVCHD/h.264 or another mpeg-4 format. I regularly produce AVCHD .m2ts files which play on my 6 year old Samsung 46" HDTV, and also videos from my GoPro Hero 3 Black which are .mp4, and they also play. And both formats produce excellent quality...

In my X7, when I choose mpeg-2 as the output, it says (in English): "Create compressed video files idea for storing on DVDs, This format is recommended for projects that you want to save to discs at a later time using the Create disc option." There is no mention of playback on TV.

I can play mpg videos on my TVs (Sony and Samsung) via a USB stick.
I mostly use a WD Media player connected to my TVs to play videos. That device can play almost everything I throw at it.
