Burning to a VCD with VideoStudio 8

Post by Louistong »

I wonder if anyone has encountered this problem?
Rendered movie successfully into MPEG (checked with media player), trying to burn into VCD using 'Create disc' in 'Share' menu of VideoStudio 8. Selected 'Max' burn speed and burn to CD rather than to image.
Software appeared to have converted file successfully, but showed 'available disc space' as 0 Mb even though it is a new CDR.
The software will show 'Insufficient disc space...' and abort the burning at the writing stage. I tried this with various other blank CDR with the same result. I tried this with very small MPEG files also with the same result. The same blank CDRs appeared to be good when burning MPEG files directly with other programs. Any ideas?

It could be a software conflict with one of the other burning programs you have. You may also want to consider updating the Ulead Burning Engine (a free download) if you haven't done so yet.

Louistong,
When you created the video file, did you select properties that were consistent with VCD capabilities? For example, your maximum video frame size would be 352 X 288 (240 NTSC). I suggest creating the video file with VCD-compatible properties prior to trying to burn the DVD.
