Can't download updates

Hi all,

I can't get the update to install on my computer. Everytime I download it and click "run" installshield wizard comes up and says that it cannot detect that MF4 is installed on my computer! Argh! Any thoughts.

Also - is it just me or is it really hard to get in touch with tech support?

What version of Moviefactory specifically do you have? The update may not work for it. For example, trials do not accept updates.

I have MF4 - Disk Creator edition. (NOT the trial version). I even tried to download the update into the same folder as the program and it still didn't detect MF4 on my computer. Thanks.

You can try to re-install MF4 or have it repair the installation.

When you look at the updates on the website and read what the update
performs do you need to use that feature.
If not then updating isn't necessary.

I started with the TBYB version, but then I bought then entire version. Frankly, I am not sure exactly what a dual-layer burn is - I just thought that maybe the update was a patch of some sort that might help me sort through the bugs that I have encountered. Over the weekend, I was able to get MF4 to burn again, but I am still "hit or miss" on whether it will read my previously recorded DVD's or not. I am wondering if it has something to do with them being recorded as DVD-V or DVD-VR. I tried both options under copy but for three disks, nothing helped.

when you bought the program, did they give you a key code to unlock the TBYB or did they provided you with a download link for the full version?

if you bought the key code to unlock the program, i suggest you contact techsupport email or and ask for a redownload.... i've heard patches wont install on unlocked TBYBs
