Re: Ultimate X7 Locks up when rendering DVD
Hi
Can you give us more information to what you are doing............
With your project open in the timeline what did you do
1 / Share – Disc – DVD this opens the Burner Module.
OR
2 / Share – “Create a video that you can play on Computer”, using the Mpeg2 option
Please try option 2, Mpeg2 --- if the render fails at the same point, take note of the content on the timeline.
Give us more information regarding the files in the timeline, what type of video files, right click a clip and choose properties, what are they?

Re: Ultimate X7 Locks up when rendering DVD
I shared by DVD and it started to render, then locked program up about 18 percent in. The movie files are Mpeg2 720x480. 16:9 8 Mps and .Mov files 720x1280 H.264 24 bits, sound Mpeg low complexity. I also tried to render to a folder on my comuter. Tried Mpeg-2 , avi , wmv. all oif them stopped rendering about 18 to 20 percent into the movie. Tried changing the order of the different movie files, but didn't make any difference

Hi
If it locks up at the same point at 18% ish then what is in the timeline at that point.
Any additional clips or transitions, maybe Smart Sound, Filters, speed timelapse.

Re: Ultimate X7 Locks up when rendering DVD
I wonder if one of your .mov files is at the 18% mark? If I understand what you are doing, you have the mpeg-2 and .mov files in the editing timeline, do your editing, then jump directly to burn a DVD. Have you instead first tried just to burn a new mpeg-2 from your project, or better still first tried to convert the HD .mov video clips to standard definition -- and DVD compliant -- mpeg-2?

Re: Ultimate X7 Locks up when rendering DVD
I am interested in a resolution to this. I am completely up to date with corel and all the files being processed are valid and don't have errors. Plenty of horse power quad processer, 16 gb ram plenty of hard drive.Yet when I go to render, it locks up " Corel is not responding" on a consistent basis, yes always at the same spot. Is there a diagnostic or error file we can use. Worked fine in x6 version.

Re: Ultimate X7 Locks up when rendering DVD
I tried installing Video Studio Ultimate X7 on a different computer running windows 8.1 . Tried rendering the same project, locked up program again at same 18-20% into the render. I even moved the order of the video files in the time line. It has nothing to do with the type of file. It will not render into any of the output choices? I successfully rendered a complete slide show without any problems, just will not render video files without locking up program.????

Re: Ultimate X7 Locks up when rendering DVD
Hi Guys
Sorry but I don’t have a solution to why the program should crash at the same point especially if you have removed the clips at that point.
I would still suspect the mix of Mpeg2 and Mov types. With the Mov’s being the problem?
Do you have any playback issues when playing the Mov files in Clip and Playback mode?
You could try rendering without using Smart Render to Mpeg2
Place one of the Mpeg2 clips at the beginning of the timeline.
Share – Same as First Video Clip – option under the same as project properties
Uncheck Smart Render.
If you were to create a Smart Package, zip the package and upload to a sharing site, we could download and try on our computers. Try to create a shorter project to reduce file sizes, How long is your project.
If you don’t use a sharing site then Microsoft One Drive is free and easy to use, not sure what the Max upload file size.
Otherwise…….
I would also suggest you contact Corel support, if you don’t qualify for their free period try Corel on Facebook, as far as I know staffed by Corel employees.
