Cannot re-install

Vitascene now hangs (Studio stops responding) on me. I was trying to work out how to add custom transition templates, must have somehow caused vitascene to bug. Any project with vitascene used in it is now uneditable, and vitascene is effectively dead. How to re-isntall everything?

I went to add-remove programs in control panel, but after the prompt to modify/repair/remove it fails to remove VS, it says it's already removed.

I then ran the isntaller from the install media, but the program does not open, I get an hourglass for 5 seconds than the hourglass dissapears. I have been trying various things for about 2 hours now - everyone says to create a new user acct on computer and try again. Can I install twice?

What version of VS are you running, Corel have a cleanup tool available for most versions

7, Ultimate. I have all the installer files extracted from zip still.
I installed only about 3 or so months ago. How would I find this magical fixer program?

yeah I installed the 64-bit version - jsut googled there is no link I can find to a tool for version X7

It seems most people re-isntall windows when this happens, a new user account does not change anything for me (although logically it would have no effect on uninstall) It's really wierd - the word "Corel apperars in a small splash-screen for a second and the setup program just exits again. It's almost as if something totally unexpected or new is happening and the programmer never countered for it.

I assume I have a "key" for some of this software, was it emailed to me, or is the key in huge archive/installer the file I origionally downloaded?

I want this working tomorrow - after that I can re-install windows - since I'm due to do so anyway.

Hah - workaround. Do all my editing in a new user act - vitascene does not hang - but it's terribly slow, waiting for something in the background to happen almost. But I can continue at least untill I get around to re-installing my whole system. I just hope I can find the license keys.

Here is the VS X7 clean up tool

Download - unzip - and run the resulting .exe file

Licence keys (serial numbers) can be found on your programme list in your account on the Corel.com website

Thanks Brian. I also found the key online there, much happier now. Will try re-installing Studio tomorrow.

That uninstall tool must have solved it since it all worked soon after that - sorry for taking so long to close this thread.
