NO Sub-Menu's --- WHY NOT ??

Post by tommo45 »

I am looking for a DVD slideshow package that allows me to create a slideshow with menus and sub-menus, this I thought would be standard in all packages, I have tried several incl Arcsoft, Photo2DVD and now Ulead. All of these suffer the same problem, i.e. NO sub-menus, I would have thought it was an absolute necessity. I would like the menu of my slideshow to reflect the the organization of my photo catalogue, so I may have a top layer menu that would be WORK, FAMILY, FRIENDS, behind each of these top menu options would be further sub-menus. I am finding it real pain to achieve this with all the above stated applications including ulead's offering. Does anyone know why this facility is not offered or an application that does offer this ....

cheers, Mark..

You can create sub menus if you create chapters from a video clip with MovieFactory (but not for picture slideshows). Maybe they don't feel the feature is necessary.

Pictureshow was created for creating sldieshow video discs using simple steps and adding submenus could complicate the procedure. If you want to create submenus for your project, create your slideshow in MovieFactory 4 then render the slideshow into a video clip using the Export function. Import it again as a video file and create chapter points. This way, you'll have a submenu for your DVD project. You can download the MovieFactory 4 trial version from the Ulead website.

Excuse my lack of knowledge but where is the export function within Movie Factory 4.0 or are you talking about actually creating Video (VOB) files (in the Burn process) for importing as a menu ??

At the Add/Edit Media step of MovieFactory, highlight the slideshow that you want to export into a video clip. Click on the Export Selected Clips button on the left side or press Alt+K on your keyboard for the shortcut key...
