Hi,

Did have that problem, set the program to burn at 2.4X and it actually burned the disk at 4X (it's maximum speed for the disk)

I do have the same problem, when choosing a different speed for burning, it always shows the maximum burning speed, and ignores the chosen speed. This is annoying, because there is no chance to burn a disc in "safe" mode (means slower speed).

I think you have to have a dvd in the drive and ready to burn before it will let you set the speed (well that works for me)...But: if copying a DVD there is no option to force the burn speed to 8x, it jumps from 4x to 12x which is nuts...

I think once the DVD size shows in the burn menu - you should be able to set the speed; if the size doesn't show I usually have to eject the dvd, put it back in then go back one menu then forward again!

to be more precisely

I think, i´ll explain what my problem is:

*) I have a DVD in the burner
*) it is specified to 8x speed, the burner (and so the software) recognises it as 16x - that is why I want to reduce the burning speed manually
*) So, the project is ready to burn, and my last setting is to adjust the burning speed to 8x (it offers me 16x, 12x, 8x, 4x, 2x)
*) After muxing and finishing the VOB Movie Factory (in German "Filmbrennerei" :? ) starts burning, writing "Burning at 16x Speed", and if I look at the time, it burns (or tries to burn it) at 16x speed (which results in an error most of the time).

So lets hope that the patch fixes it, because this is the only big problem I have with this software. Now I´m using a workaround: I write the resulting DVD in an folder structure (Video_TS) and burn it afterwards with Nero - but this is double work to do.
