I have used AfterShot Pro for a year or two now and like what it has to offer. I have used it to edit NEF images from the Nikon D70s as well as the D5100 without issues. I have recently purchased a Nikon D5300 and found that the AfterShot Pro will not work with those NEF images. All JPG images appear without a problem...and all NEF images taken with the D70s and D5100 are fine. The images from the D5300 do not appear...it is as if the file folder is empty. The only way to see the NEF pix is to use PSPX6...I just do not like that RAW editor.
This morning I checked ASP 2 and found that it has the D5300 listed as a new addition to the list of compatible cameras. I purchased the new download, set it up, and...nothing. I can see the old NEF images just fine. And, I can see the JPG images. Any NEF image taken with the D5300 are blank. I have reloaded ASP 2 twice, have looked for a fix, and I have contacted Corel Technical Support. Still waiting.
Is this upgrade worth the hassel? Should I just get my money back? Any suggestions?

If You are using Windows - chose ANY other RAW converter like Adobe LR.
Corel AfterShot is a piece of ***. Corel just ruined what Bibble achieved. Every 'new' version is worst than the previous one.
Now(?) they started to add new features: but all buggy and the old bugs are still not eliminated.
If You are using Linux - then you have no real choice.
Sadly I can't name any other RAW converter for production.
Maybe you shold try Darktable and see if its fits your needs.

Re: ASP 2 does not work with Nikon D5300
Zrubi and Trucks...Thank you both for your comments. I was able to work through the problem with Corel Support. Believe it or not, the problem was with the folder I placed the NEF files into. STRANGE! I downloaded the pics exactly the same away I have downloaded 000's of pics before. However, ASP2 did not like something. I could open the RAW files just fine with PSPx6.
I placed a new folder on the desktop, moved the NEF files out of the existing folder to the desktop (via Explorer). After deleting the old folder and placing a new folder in AfterShot Pro 2, I, again, used Explorer to move the NEF files back to the new ASP2 folder. The key may be that I used ASP2 to make the new folder rather than using Explorer. Anyway...it works.
I've used Corel for a long time. I did switch to Adobe Elements a few years ago but came back to Corel when the updates to Elements become numerous and expensive. I've not gone to Lightroom but might if someone could tell me that it's worth the cost to do so.
