Hi, I am new to this forum so I don't know if this has already been answered (I have looked though). I recently bought the ADS DVD Xpress package and Video Studio 7.0 SE comes with. I have the most recent update but am still having problems. Once I capture my video, I go to the 'Edit' screen and click 'Play' so I can splice the video in certain spots. When I hit 'Play' it takes around 10 minutes for it to begin playing a 66 minute video and even longer to stop it or splice it. I am just wondering if that is normal or if something is set up wrong. My system specs are : Intel P4 w/ HT at 3 gHZ, 512 DDR ram, 2-120 GB HDD's, 128MG nVidia Geforce FX 5200 video card.

Bring up Task Manager and see if your system is CPU bound or I/O bound. I suspect that it is I/O bound, i.e. the hard disk is going mad the whole time.
If memory isn't exhausted (which would cause lots of slow disk swapping), then you probably have a video file that is missing index information, and UVS is reading the whole file to locate the required frame / timecode. If you use Type 2 DV files, switch to Type 1, which seems to be better supported.
