Hi Trevor,

From the shortcuts I can open both versions, the layout is different, the VSX6 5.4 version is there because when deleting VSX6, it does not delete Boris Graffiti and when I click on the 6.1 version shortcut, it is definitely the 6.1 version that opens. Also noticed that Boris Graffiti 4.0 is still showing as installed

AS I have the 32 bit version of VSX7 installed (to enable use of my New Blue packages) is it possible that the standalone 6.1 version for VSX7 is only available with 32 bit and not the 64 bit version

I think I can see some light at the end of the tunnel here.

snowstorm states that he can use Boris Graffiti 6.1 as standalone, but he is using VSX6, so as Boris is not removed when deleting VSX6, it remains available as a standalone after installing VSX7. I had not realized that VSX6 also had Boris 6.1, but assumed that it had 5.4 which must have been the version included with VSX5.
But that does not explain why Ken and others who have both VSX6 and VSX7 installed, still do not have a standalone version available

For what it is worth, I also have the Boris Version 6 on my Windows 8.1 computer, but it is the 32 bit version and I too can open it from the icon on my desktop and use it as a stand-alone program. That is how I use it when practicing with the Gripp's tutorials. Strange behaviors coming from so many installs :?:

Thanks for all your comments. I still have not been able to run Boris as stand-alone...I am just starting to learn that program, and working with it within VideoStudio is a pain. It crashed two or three times tonight, and normally VideoStudio never gives me any troubles. I left Gripps a message to see if he has any ideas.

Ok, I think I have the answer. I messaged Gripps, and he replied:
You can only launch 32bit in stand alone. This is not an over site from Corel. I have spoken to Boris, he said he will try stand alone for 64 in the near future.
So that's it...Stand-alone in 32 bit only. Thanks for your help everyone, let's hope for an update!
