Hello, all...
My first use of this board, although I've been a happy user of Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 Ultimate since it was introduced, so hope I didn't miss an already posted answer to this issue.
The issue is:
I keep my images on two separate WD external hard drives.
When I use the Organizer to find images on one of these drives, it presents a nice orderly tree showing all folders on that drive in reliable alphanumeric order.
However, when I try to find items in the other drive the tree is utterly haphazard, requiring scrolling forever to have any hope of finding the desired folder.
Interestingly, if I open either of these drives using Explorer (Windows XP Home is my OS), everything is normal.
I have tried re-setting PSP to its defaults, using the File -> Preferences tab. No luck. In fact, after a couple such tries, the tree had LESS folders displayed.
I'm hoping this is a simple setting that I've somehow overlooked, but I'd sure appreciate some guidance from a more experienced user of this feature.
Many thanks!
Steve
P.S.: I should also mention that Organizer also opens my "My Pictures" folder on the C Drive in perfect alphanumeric sequence.

I don't have PSP X2 so I can't comment on the layout of that version. In PSP X6 and X7 there is an icon in Manage mode for "sort by". In your case it may be in a menu or an icon. See if you can find "sort by".

Re: Strange Problem using PSP ProPhoto Organizer
Have you tried mapping the external drives? I'm not sure if XP does this but on Windows 7 you'd navigate to the primary folder (or other starting point you'd like), right click it, and choose Map Network Drive. You get asked a few questions to configure, and voila, it shows up in the Computer tree as another drive starting with the folder that you've mapped. This helps you find it quicker, and helps the computer know what you're after.
The problem is that folders aren't named anything like you think they are. They are all a sequence of numbers, and each folder has info to display a name that you recognize. The address association is breaking for some reason. Mapping the drive tells the computer to keep control of the situation.
Hope this helps

Re: Strange Problem using PSP ProPhoto Organizer
@Dan
Thanks, Dan, but I'm not sure this addresses the problem of my folders from a given external hard drive displaying in alphanumeric order. XP does allow me to "map" a drive, but from my novice perspective, this has more to do with assigning a different letter to a drive that the computer is not recognizing. For this reason, I am hesitant to mess with this.
Fact is, computer itself does recognize both drives and does display the contents alphanumerically when I open them in Explorer. It is only the Paint Shop Organizer which opens one hard drive with no recognizable order yet opens the other hard drive with correct alphanumeric order, leaving out nothing.
Other ideas for this weird issue, anyone?
Thanks!
