Hi - I have Premier Pro on my Computer for Video Editing/compiling purposes and then DVD MF4 to use as the burning Software. I'm wondering if there are any known conflicts using these two programs on the same machine.
Also, Since Premier Pro offers like a gazillion different variations on how to export your finished movie, does anyone know what format and settings works best for then importing the movie into MF4 for authoring?
Thanks & God Bless!
Adobe Premier Pro Paired w/ MF4 - Okay? Export format?

Author the mpeg2 file from Adobe as a "DVD Compliant File".
When you import the video into moviefactory it will already be DVD
compliant.
On the bottom of the screen click on the "Gear" Icon and make sure
"Do Not Convert Compliant Files" is Checked ON.
Make a short 5 minute mpeg2 file from Adobe and import it into MF4
as a test.
When you get to the burning screen click on the "Drop-down" arrow
to display additional parameters.
UnCheck "Create/Burn Disk"
Check ON "Create DVD Folders"
Select a directory and create the VIDEO_TS folder on the harddisk.
Everything should go very fast.
You can then TEST the video dvd structure created on the harddisk
by opening up "PowerDvd" or WinDvd or Ulead Dvd Player and selecting
"Play from dvd folder on harddisk" and navigating to the VIDEO_TS
directory.
If you edit the video in MF4 it will be re-encoded (you do not want that).
Any re-encoded video is re-encoded to the settings you have set as
the "Project Settings".
If you export the video from Adobe with mpeg audio then in MF4
make the project settings audio section set for Dolby Audio.
Under the "Gear" icon then check ON "Treat Mpeg audio as non-dvd compliant"
Only the audio will be re-encoded and not the video. Provided you also
have the "Do Not Convert etc" checked ON.
Also any video that MF feels needs to be re-encoded will have an "X" in the
upper right hand corner of the Thumbnail (while viewing on the timeline).
Hope this helps,
MD
