SP1 install failure on VS7

Post by jkallinen »

Anyone else get this when installing SP1 for VS7.

The installed version of this application could not be determined.
The setup will now terminate.

The system has not been modified. To install the program at a later
time ,run the installer again.

This happens everytime I run it. So it cannot find it even on the same drive.
Quality control. Ya right.

That message is Corel's strange way of telling you that the SP1 update is already installed. Look at the About for the program and it should tell you if SP1 is installed.

Maybe SP1 was already part of the program when you installed it??

Then why would not say it was already updated before downloading another patch they make you think you need ?

Yes, this has been raised quite a few times. But as canuck said at the outset, it is just Corel's strange way of letting us know the SP is already installed!!

View the About under the Help menu

Your version should be 17.1.0.22 with SP1 installed

The “ 1 “ in that number indicates SP1
