Image resize in X5
I am resizing images to 1920x1080 to match to video frame size in Video Studio X7.I set the figures in the height and width fields , when I return to the resize box again it had changed to 1920.17 and 1079.85 and I have to enter 1920 and 1080 again every time.Is there away to keep the figures I want showing so that I don't have to retype

Re: Image resize in X5
Are you using the Print dimensions area or the Pixel Dimensions area?
In the pixel dimensions area you have two options: Pixels or Percent. Both pixels and percents don't allow decimals.
Print Dimensions are different than pixels dimensions, those are figured in Inches or Centimeters. And the resulting numbers are based on the Print Resolution.
For your project, you don't want to use Print Dimensions, you want to use pixel dimensions.

Re: Image resize in X5
Is there any parameter I can set in the resize box( or anywhere else) to avoid some results showing objects being squashed ie "flattened" cars

Re: Image resize in X5
There is the "Maintain Aspect Ratio" option. To use that properly you'll need to crop it before resizing so that the aspect ratio matches.
Or the Smart Carver.
Essentially when the aspect ratio you're trying to achieve (16:9) is different than the one you're starting with the image will get distorted. If you turn on "Maintain aspect ratio" in the resize dialog (under advanced options) then you are not going to get exactly 1920x1080.
Cropping lets you select an aspect ratio and crop the image to match that. You can then resize to 1920x1080 without distortion.
The smart carver, by comparison, lets you identify areas of the image that you want to keep, then you can identify the new size and it'll try and preserve those areas while removing or stretching other areas in the image.

Re: Image resize in X5
Grab the crop tool
From the presets drop-down, select 16 x 9.
That will give you a 16 x 9 aspect ratio crop box. Move the crop rectangle to grab the most important parts of the image. And accept the crop. Your image should now be at a 16 x 9 aspect ratio.
Use the resize dialog to then resize it to a 1920 x1080 image.
