Re: problem importing xdcam mp4 files
I didn't know the XDCAM filmed in mp4... I thought it was only DV and variants of mpeg-2. So can you please, if you don't have it already, download a freeware program called Media Info, and point it at one of your video clips, then post all the specifications here: http://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download
EDIT: Subsequent to writing the above, I checked with the Sony info on XDCAM and see that mp4 is used with the camcorders that use flash memory cards. But it would still be useful to see the exact mp4 properties of your clips since each manufacturer appears to tweak the mp4 format in their own peculiar direction....

Ok what l wasn't sure of is that if l use the option for dvcam will it still be hd quality or not ,coz there are two options one for HQ with diff resolutions and one for the dvcam ,the HQ is the one used to shoot the clips l hv

Re: problem importing xdcam mp4 files
I don't think it films in HDV format. It is standard def DV. That being said, it films in Blu-Ray compatible mpeg-2 (high def) as well as high def MP4...
