Hi folks. I just bought VS9 and there's so much to explore. How do I make a DVD with multiple separate movies that you can pick what to play from the initial menu? Do I have to create each movie as a separate project and later merge them onto 1 DVD? Thanks.

In a word, yes.

And when you have produced a final DVD-compliant mpeg-2 file for each of your projects (Share > Create File > DVD), you open the burning module (Share > Create Disc > DVD), making sure at the time that there is nothing in the timeline, and then 'ADD Video File' for each of your final mpeg-2s, insert your chapters in each, make a menu which has a separate icon on the main menu page for each mpeg-2, and burn the DVD.

And read the Recommended Procedures sticky post at the very top of this Board.

I just want to add that for advanced DVD authoring, you may try DVD WorkShop 2. It is a very powerful DVD authoring tool which support interactive linking, etc.
