videostudio X7 problem

Post by rcoucou »

hello

for information
I bought the updated version of VideoStudio X7
but there is a problem when rendering in mpg2
to DVD (no error message)
but default raster file generated in the MGP
no worries in the X6 version for the same project
with the same material

X7 version is unusable for me
unless there is a fix for this version

my time online support is unfortunately obsolete depiuis one month

Maybe you could tell us in great detail what the problem is, when it happens, how it happens, what file types you have in the project, any extras such as transitions/effects, can you save as a wmv, or mp4 file?

hello

files from a JVC camera
fichier.MTS
frame frame width 1920 height 1080
25 frames a second
48khz stereo audio 2

X6 version, no fault of pixelation on the rendered file
whether it be by a simple MPG2 file or generating a dvd

X7 version but after rendering, small squares of pixalisation generated in the film despite several successive compilations

I thought the problem was the drive or media,
but not
the defects of images are real in the MPG file before burning

defects (the little squares are random in image generated)
not constant, gender miscoding divx, unsightly

no error message when generating the video file
but the result can not be used on the big screen

the codec used in the X7 version is probably different
X6 version that it poses no problem

I try to generate an MP4 file to see if the fault is the same

thank you

hello
I did the test with the MP4 codec
there is no fault in the video output file to MP4

So it seems that the problem would be the MPG2 codec used in version X7

Version for the codec MPG2 X6 has no defect

the problem is we can not make DVD playable on home DVD player in MPG4

kind regards

The problem with seeking a fix for this problem is that it is not a common one: in fact I am not aware of anyone else having the same problem with X7 -- and there are a lot of users out there regularly making mpeg-2 files. I also don't think a new and separate mpeg-2 codec is installed with X7. In other words, it would be using the same codec as X6, which you say works... So I would suspect there is some other problem with X7. First of all I would reinstall it.

hello

thank you ken of your analysis, I will reinstall the software on my PC

but is it possible to swap the mpg2 codec X7
by that of the X6 version that works?

thank you

As I said, I don't think X7 installed any new codec. I think it uses exactly the same codec that X6 uses. That is why I suggest that something has gone wrong with other aspects of your X7 install. Otherwise, lots of other uses would also be having trouble with the X7 render/share, but they aren't...

rcoucou is definitely not the only person with this problem and I have seen other posts on here that highlight it too. I have only just started using VSX7 Pro on Windows 7 (UK user) and I have the same pixellation problem on Mpeg 2 renders, only when the camera pans, but generally the rendering just doesn't look particularly smooth on playback; I retried on VSX6 (retained fortunately as I won't use VSX7 until I have a solution) and the rendering was fine. I have tried various MPEG2 property settings and 1440 at 25p eradicates the pixellation but the playback is not smooth on panning. My video camera is a Canon HF100 and it was set to create video in 1440x1080 so it would have had to convert a bit for 720x576 but VSX6 managed it OK without pixellation or jerkiness.

As has been said, you are not the only one with this MPEG2 problem. It describes an exact same problem I have with X7. Am going to contact support again. They suggested an upgrade to my graphics card, but it still pixelates after the replacement.

hello
Following contact with the support corelvideo X7
I cancel service and loaded the new version of X7
same problem of default of visualization to the screen
this by using the codec based on higher fields
no problem if the base frame codec is used

to use the codec mpg2 to dvd
always with defects base on higher fields
it may be possible to change that based on the upper field to not have this problem

kind regards

Hi
I also upgraded my X6 to X7. The X7 was working exactly for 4 weeks after the installation.
After that from some reason it became very slow (I did not install anything new on my PC) and the rendering became extremely instable. Even a film what was rendered before (AVCHD) cannot be rendered again - it crashes on different places (31,45, 61%) and even the program crashed when I pull some clips (mts) to the time axle. The clips are individually OK, I can play them in preview window and also with other programs.

Of course it happened few days after the Corel's free support expiring date and because I am not very hapy with their support at all, I am not ready to pay for their prime support. (there is no guarranty that they can help at all).

I also discovered something very strange - when I select MPEG Optimazing it creates a folder on the C drive C:/Temp and places lot of temporary video files into this folder. They start with " ~ " sign and some fraction of the original name. (My X7 seven is configured to use for everything different drives (D, I or K), because my C drive is a small SSD. (I have several TB other drives in the computer. Those temporary files can be played with different programs (standard W application or VLC).

I will try to install the X7 again, if it does not work I have to go back to X6.

I am also hesitating to leave Corel for ever (the ULEAD programs in comparison to the newer Corel Video studio were more stable and they did not introduced stupid restrictions into their support policies.

hello

response Corel
we recommend that you use the codec with frames
choose in the preferences of Use before making the video file from DVD

My comment: It is a shame not to choose this preference once and for all, which will avoid wasted time to compile the file for 2 hours

There has thus a problem of using Codec install bottom field on the version X7

I closed the discussion : because was blocked

My VS X7 definitively died. It crashed in the last time several times a day. Simple during the normal operation A small window popped up telling me, that the program does not work.
A new start worked well, so I could continue. Not any more today. The X7 cannot be started. I tried to reinstal but it failed also. The installtion screen tells me, that the VS X7 cannot uninstal the program, and it stops the installation.
I tried to download it again from Corel, there is no difference. It says that there is an another VS X7 and cannot be uninstalled.
At the same time the VS X6 works on the same computer.

I do not know what to do. Corel support does not exist.

I think I will stop with this company fo forever.

You can try using the software clean-up tool which should remove all traces of X7 from you computer and then you can try again with a clean install

download the attached zip file - un-zip it and run the resulting .exe file

Hi Guys

The clean-up facility does not remove all files, in particular the 17.0 folder, that holds details of the library.
If the library content was causing your problem then you will be best to delete, or at least rename the folder to 17.0_old

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\17.0\

Also check this folder.

C:\Users\Trevor\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\17.0

And

C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro

It does seem to indicate that these are related to Personal info, the Clean-up does not seem to remove those?

Not sure if there are any other leftovers?
