Obtaining Virtual Painter?

Post by terrypin »

In PSP 8 I rather like the effects shown in Virtual Painter (Demo) and decided I'd reach for my credit card and buy them. But all links so far reference JASC and ultimately failed. So did various links to an apparently free Virtual Painter or Virtual Painter 5.

Does this software still exist and if so can someone point me to a reliable source please?

Note: I already have Corel Painter Essentials 4 , which is excellent, but a little long-winded to use.

You might want to download a trial of Topaz Labs Impression. It's not free but it's very good and gives you a lot of control over the finished image.

Thanks Kathy, but I don't reckon I want to part with $100 for effects that I'll use only occasionally!!

Take a look at FotoSketcher. It's free and has a lot of effects that are quite easy to use (and combine).

Many thanks, Ken. Duly installed and looks excellent. Oil in progress! Will play with it more thoroughly asap.
