Is there a easy way to rotate ONLY a selection and not the entire image? I have a merged photo with a log building that spanned the two images. I can select say the right part of the building and move it down so the "log siding" matches up with the left but that changes the roof line and front grass line. If I could rotate only the selected right side of the log building just a few degrees then things would line up nicely. I thought about copying the right selection and paste it as new image, rotate that image just a bit, recopy it and paste it back into the original photo which will work but it is difficult to get the exact amount of roation degree correct PLUS it a pain to have to move between the images. Much nicer if the selection only could be rotated by handles and /or by degrees.
Is what I'm asking possible in PSP X7 and how is it done?

I can only imagine what you are trying to do - I don't know if this helps or would work, but try using the perspective tool to nudge the image in one of the layers. This should allow (with much experimentation) moving one side of the image and not others.
You can select a portion of the image (selection tool) and the selection can be rotated by using the pick tool on the selection. Tool options allow selection of a pivot point and degrees of rotation for precise movements.

To only rotate a selection, make the selection and then click menu Image/Free rotate.
Fill in the options you need there and click OK. The selection will be floated and rotated. Then click menu Selections/Defloat (Ctrl+shift+F) and you're done.
When combining two images into a panorama-like image, you can also paste image #2 into image #1 as a new layer.
Using the Pick tool (K) -it shares a button with the Move tool (M)- you can move and rotate the new layer. Select All of the layer if you want to Free rotate a few degrees instead of by hand.

Re: ONLY rotate a selection PSP X7
I'm guessing what you mean is that the image has some natural/visual perspective distortion to it, so when you select the right half of it and paste it onto the left half (to make the building narrower??), the logs don't align. Before you select the right half, could you use the straighten tool, lining it up along something like the roof or having the line run between the end of a log on the right and the end of a log on the left, you'll get a log building that is completely horizontal and aligned left-to-right. Then you would select the right side of the building and paste it onto the left side, and the logs should line up right.
