output resolution

Is it possible to improve the output resolution in creating slideshows beyond the default 720x480 for DVDs. If photos are taken as high resolution, generally 3000 x 2000, shouldn't there be a way to burn a slideshow so that the resolution is closer to the captured photos rather than just defaulting to 720x480???

No, that is the best resolution currently supported by DVD writers. You'll need to wait a couple years for HD DVD and BlueRay drives to become avaliable.
