Sure, gpe wrote:Ok but can I point to my old directories. By default it wants to create new ones ?
but make sure you save the old ones. It insists on overwriting some of the user stuff (metadata sets, some keyboard definitions, raw defaults).

I've installed it but there are some bugs:
- the about dialog box isn't displayed,
- in 64 bits version there is none icon in the menus

It helps to mention the OS when noting something like this.gpe wrote:I've installed it but there are some bugs:

On my Ubuntu box I can see that the icons are missing in the 64bit version, the splash screen/about box did not show up on first start, but since then it was always there.

Re: AfterShotPro 2.1.0.40 ?
Don't worry, the standard AfterShot 2 will not be released for Linux, according to this pdf I found on the Corel website, so we use the Pro version on Linux for sureArnfinn wrote:I feel a bit degraded when there's no Pro in the name anywhere in the application work area, unless I open the splash screen under Help > About Aftershot 2...
That is by far the only place it says I'm running the Pro version. Everywhere else, it's just AfterShot 2![]()
Yes, I do have HDR and everything else, but please Corel; If I purchase the PRO version, I would certainly want to have it appear that way, and not be left with the low down feeling of the stripped down entry level version when working with my images...

Re: AfterShotPro 2.1.0.40 ?
I tried 2.1.0.40 for Windows 64bit with Pentax 645Z PEF. Unfortunately, it has a bug drawing black and white bars on left and right sides.
I failed to attach a sample pic so I link to Flickr page of the pic. https://www.flickr.com/photos/fukapon/15436839880/
If you want the RAW, get it from here. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/al3ibh3dse15 ... 1oYzAupvBa

Re: AfterShotPro 2.1.0.40 ?
They made a huge mess around this product :)afx wrote:They messed up the names ;-)
If someone wonder there is NO 'non pro' version. It was before Corel bought the Bibble but they just adopted (renamed) the 'Bibble 5 Pro' to 'Corel AfterShot Pro'.
- To star making this mess they just renmed 'Bibble 5 Pro' to 'AfterShot Pro' - With this move the just broke ALL the contributed plugins.
- To make it more messy they just abadoned the 'old' AftershotPro after the version 1.2.0.7
- Then they released a 'new' AfterShotPro2 - with a fantastic new feature: 64bit and as a side effect they broke ALL of the plugins AGAIN!
- Now (2.1.0.40) they just started to rename the whole thing to 'AfterShot 2' - Whit this move now they broke all the user settings - because the 'new' program using new config files and directories.
If you want to install this new version on Linux - without any pain - do these steps BEFORE you attempt to start the newly installed package.
Code: Select all
cd ~/
# Link the default Library folder:
ln -s AfterShotPro AfterShot
# Copy the config diretory
cp -a .AfterShotPro .AfterShot
# Copy the config file
cp -a .config/Corel/AfterShot\ Pro.conf .config/Corel/AfterShot\ 2.confWe get the the binary: - Notice the directory name as well ;)
/opt/AfterShot2/bin/AfterShotPro
We got a shell script - calling the binary mentioned above:
/usr/bin/AfterShot2
and we got some nice config directories and files with f*cking spaces included:
.AfterShot
.config/Corel/AfterShot 2.conf
to see more renaming fail:
strings /opt/AfterShot2/bin/AfterShotPro |grep bibble
Oh, and not forgot the fact that they CAN'T make a proper .rpm package with VERSION numbers. All the f*ked packages are installed with the same version number:
Code: Select all
Name : AfterShotPro
Arch : i386
Epoch : 174
Version : 2.0
Release : 0.0
Thank You, Corel.
