Is there a thread here that lists the best render settings for MPEG-4? Do I just match the video properties that are in the source file? What output type is best? Destination is youtube.
Apologies if this is repeatedly asked or if I missed something basic. Just getting back to VS and have upgraded to X7. Thanks for help.

Re: MPEG-4 rendering
Hi Nick
No specific thread….
The golden rule would be to retain as much of the original properties which should retain the best quality.
Right click one of your clips and choose properties, what are they..
The program does provide for Upload to Web, this includes a YT template.
Typical Upload Project template:-
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1280 x 720, 25 fps
Frame-based
H.264 Main Profile Video: 5000 Kbps
44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 128 Kbps
You can always use 1920 x 1080 for full HD
The process automatically uploads to YT, you may not wish to do that?
Otherwise from Share --
Choose the Mpeg4 –Selecting one of the Profiles
OR
From Settings, Movie Profile Manager – Create your own template
Test the various options to create the best quality
Hope this helps
