I am now at my wits end. I do not think it is because of Ulead as I have the same problem with Memories on TV, Pinnacle Studio and any program for making DVD movies
I am able to go through all processes without a problem but when I get to rendering I always hang at 2 - 8 %. I can render on another computer then transfer files bach to mine and am able to burn the DVD (all programs)
I faithfully scan with Virus protection, Spayware detection. Computer is always kept defragged
I have tried it with all background programs off (including Virus check)
I run two monitors and tried with both separately
I am running XP with Service Pack 2 - but it also performed the same with Service Pack 1
Video card is a GEForce FX 5200 with latest drivers, 2 HDD 140 Gig each
1 gig memory Pentium 4 2.5 processor
I have no problems with any other software
Does anyone have any suggestions ?

re: Picture Show Freezes
While rendering video, quit all other running applications. Disable any antivirus application running in the background. Disable screensaver and temporarily remove external devices like printer, scanner or any other USB/Firewire device to free up memory usage.
Check if your hard disk is set to DMA. Open "Control Panel: System: Hardware tab: Device Manager" then click on "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers". The transfer mode should be in DMA (not PIO).
It is advisable if your source vide clips have little or no compression, like RAW AVI, MPEG1 or MPEG2. Highly compressed video formats like MPEG4 (DivX, XviD), Real Media, WMV take longer to reencode or edit (if it is actually supported which is not the case for PictureShow - RM and WMV that is).
