Video Studio X7 will not open.

After about a month or two of owning VS X7, the program hesitates to open. After I click on the icon, it brings up the loading 'page' with the guy on the motorbike and the loading bar at the bottom for about 20 seconds, then disappears. I expect the program to come up, but apparently it's crashed. I tried unistalling it and re-installing it, but the same issue continues.

Cannot say that this will help but worth a try.... go to the 17.0 folder and rename to (17.0old)
Try starting Video Studio

For 64 bit
C:\Users\user name \AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\17.0

For 32 bit
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\17.0

I think the folders are hidden by the operating system, so you will have to change that by Showing Hidden Files and Folders from the Tools menu-Options-view tab

So what has changed on your computer, have you installed any other software that may conflict.

There was a post relating to X4 starting or rather not starting and malware. (bprotector)
If it is a malware issue then may affects all versions?

Can you also check your system for malware Search Protect, Browser Protect, Babylon, Browser Search conduits etc.
