1. Neutral Grey Point Finder
I use script made by myself but it's annoying. I want one click feature.
2. Linux version
I don't think it's impossible because Corel already supports ASP linux version.

APS is based on Bibble and Bibble already had a linux version when Corel bought it. Not saying it's a bad wish, just the comparison is off since the Linux version already existed and wasn't originally produced by Corel.

Re: Wish list for Paint Shop Pro version X8
I would like Corel to fix their problem with 16 bit multi-layer psd files. At the present moment you cannot load a multi-layer 16 bit psd file created by another photo editor such as Photoshop and get anything but the top layer. I am not referring to adjustment layers, but a 2 or 3 layer psd file containing simple images saved in Photoshop at 16 bits will lose all layers past the first when loaded into X7. This problem only exists for the 16 bit files since you can load a multi-layer 8 bit psd file created by Photoshop, On One, etc and get all of the compatible layers.
What I would really like to see is a Mac version of PSP, but I don't expect that.

Did Corel ever explain this lack of plug-in compatibility and share their plans for the future? It's a pretty huge shortcoming for an otherwise mature and capable application.AlanT wrote: Of course, this suggests a need for 100% Photoshop plugin support. Any plugin that works in PS should also work in PSP, otherwise, you really can't claim PS plugin compatibility.

First, I stopped upgrading when Corel limited the "skin" colors to three: black, charcoal and light gray. Who is Corel to tell me what Windows colors I can use?
Second, Corel needs to focus more on making sure their tools work properly than on new features. I've been using X3, and even on my brand-new, high-end Hewlett-Packard computer, X3 crashes when I have the "Preview" box checked for any tool. That has been fixed in X7, but it nonetheless stands as a measure of how poor the programming is at Corel that such a bug was occurring in such a recent version of PSP.
An example of a tool that needs fixing is Local Tone Mapping. A setting of 1.0 is too strong for my purposes, but lower settings (such as 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, etc., up through 0.9) don't register at all (meaning that no different in the photo can be seen from 0.0 to 0.9). This is a bug that's been in the program for many generations, but it still hasn't been fixed.
Despite not liking the limited skin colors, I've just made the decision to upgrade to X7 because I'm tired of the constant crashes in X3. That being said, Corel needs a more reasonable price-structure for upgrades. Having just paid for the full version of the program, I won't be willing to pay $37 to upgrade to X8. My proposal is that a one-generation upgrade (from X7 to X8) cost $10, a two-generation upgrade (from X6 to X8) cost $20, a three-generation upgrade (from X5 to X8) cost $30, etc. If you are not willing to have multiple upgrade prices, then a one-generation upgrade should be FREE. One of Corel's marketing tactics is to issue frequent upgrades in order to get more money from its customer, but there is only so much money that you can squeeze out of them.

- Custom script icons
- The little arrows beside the tool icons is be removeable
- Larger brush thumbnail size or thumbnail zoom
- tubes, brush, browser pictures background - the white tubes, white png's are not visible on the white background.

another thing that would be nice is to have the m$ libraries and soft links show up in the collections side of the folders
also when i go manage then adjust then edit stuff is getting closed, i need to open stuff so i can add it to projects.
if a project is open its going to have possible 30 or 40 layers, they way this thing is working its nearly impossible. ps works right you can just keep adding stuff and surfing for more.
to me having the 3 tabs at the top is unnecessary and clunky - just put all the tools into the edit and be done with it. I noticed that most of it is there in vx7 vs v5 so its better.

More features like guides and magnetic properties while drawing or moving objects, like in CorelDRAW X7.

The White Balance feature isn't working for me as well as it has in other versions. First of all, when I click the Advanced Options box and then deselect it, the White Balance window starts to break up.
I photograph jewelry components on a white plate. In previous versions of PSP, using Smart White Balance always gave me good results. In X7, Smart White Balance turns the white plate blue. That NEVER happened in X3 or Version 10. If I use the dropper, I also get very poor results.
This isn't the first time I've seen a tool get worse from one version to the next. Small text in version 6 looks much more crisp and correctly spaced than it does in version 10 or X3 (I haven't tried text in X7 yet). At the very least, Corel should not make things worse from one version to the next.

Re: Wish list for Paint Shop Pro version X8
CMurd, have you reported the WB issue to Corel?
Re: Wish list for Paint Shop Pro version X8
Check similar images - like this Anti-Twin

Given that this is a wish list for the next version, I guess I haven't reported it. Where do I do that?Matagalpa wrote:CMurd, have you reported the WB issue to Corel?

I have to admit I haven't done that yet, but you can send feature-specific feedback via the on-line help (White Balance dialog -> F1 -> scroll to the bottom of the page -> click Send feedback link)CMurd wrote:Given that this is a wish list for the next version, I guess I haven't reported it.
