All of a sudden, import file mismatch error x6

Post by dougm1966 »

Hi everyone.

I'm running x6 for a long time now and everything has been working great and this is baffling as all get out.

When I attempt to import a file of any sort, mp4 or image I'm getting a file mismatch error, but not on all photos and videos.

I just downloaded a series of files from a long weekend and none of those files in that folder, old or new, would import.

While messing around I tried to import a different file, again, that I already had, it imported ok. So now I tried several that were already on my computer and some will import and some won't. Why?

Now...this is a long story and a wild situation...but a solution.

First conclusion, I've corrupted not the files, but the whole file directory, when copying it from one folder to another.

Second, in the set of folders there are previous photos and photos of this weekend. None of those files would import, but anything "outside" of that structure would.

I went "outside" that tree of folders, created a new folder, in a different directory, and then copied the files from the corrupt folder to the new folder outside. (I hope this is clear.)

I hope this helps others with the problem. I'm going to go over and see what happens as I copy over all the other media and see what happens.
I found this solution while writing this look for answers.

Cheers
Doug

You better use this freeware
http://filehippo.com/download_teracopy/

It can check every single file you transfer (better than the OS)

I use teracopy but have no idea how to check the files with it.
I'm moving them as I need them and it's working.
