Sorry if this has been asked before or is pasted somewhere, I couldn't find it.I'm trying to throw together a race edit from a game but am running into audio sync issues. I'm fairly new to video editing and just can't quite figure out where the formatting is wrong. The audio always runs ahead of the video. The clip is fine with audio but the project preview is not. I tried syncing up the properties between the video and project properties but am still running into this problem.
Thanks for any help.
This is the properties of a clip:
Format: MPEG-4 File
Data Rate: 25607
Total Bitrate: 25827
Bit Rate: 220kbps
Sample Rate: 48kHz
Audio Sync Issues (Game capture HD)

Re: Audio Sync Issues (Game capture HD)
Hi James. Welcome to the forum!
I'm not sure exactly where you got those properties but they are a bit confusing with their varying references to "Data Rate", "Total Bitrate" and "Bit Rate" In my mind, data rate and bitrate are identical, yet the three figures you mention are all different (though I acknowledge total bitrate could include audio as well as video rates).
So to clear this up a bit, could you right click on one of the clips in the Video Studio timeline or library window and copy ALL its Properties here, please? That way we'll have a clearer idea of what we are dealing with.
Can you also tell us exactly how you are capturing this video, and what game equipment is involved. Next, can you tell us what editing you are doing, and exactly when this OOS (out of sync) manifests itself: does it happen while you are editing, or only when you render your project to a new video (or when you are rendering to a disc)? If either of the latter two, one thing you could try would be to disable SmartRender which has, in the past, been the main cause of OOS problems for some people.
Can you also tell us what you are trying to make with the project: a disc (DVD, Blue-Ray), or a video with what properties (same as the original) to be played (how?) on what equipment?

Re: Audio Sync Issues (Game capture HD)
Alright this is what the right click properties say:
File-
File Format: MPEG-4 File
File Size: 927 MB
Duration: 300.921 Seconds
Video-
Video Type: H.264 High Profile Video
Total Frame: 17,968 frames
Attributes: 24 bits, 1280 x 720 16:9
Data Rate: 30000kbps
Audio-
Audio Type: MPEG AAC Audio
Total samples: 14,444,429 Samples
Attributes: 48000 Hz 16 bit stereo
Bit Rate: 216 Kbps
I am capturing game play from a ps3/ps4 using a Game Capture HD onto my Asus i7 powered laptop with video studio. I pre cut all the footage in the game capturing software. I want to take this pre cut footage, splice it together, add a few cuts, and commentary and upload it to my youtube channel. The sound is perfectly in sync during clip preview, during project preview it immediately goes out of sync (sound plays first) and it is also in the final rendered video.
