PSP/ASP on Windows 10 Technical Preview: Feedback

Post by Greg Wood »

Hi Everyone,

I'm pleased to report that, following the debut this week of the new Windows 10 Technical Preview, we've been able to successfully install PaintShop Pro X7 and AfterShot Pro 2 on the new OS.

We have noticed that the performance of the Technical Preview is a bit slower than Windows 8.1, but other than that things look pretty good so far. We'll post a couple of screen caps over on Facebook, but things look very familiar.

If you happen to install Windows 10 Technical Preview (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview) and test PaintShop Pro X7 or AfterShot Pro 2, please know we'll be watching this forum for your feedback.

I would be remiss if I didn't offer the caveat that Windows 10 is not a supported operating system for Corel right now. It is not eligible for technical support; I do not advocate that you install it for any reason other than self-directed technical testing or your personal interest; it should not be installed on a 'production' system; and its still early days for our own testing, so if you find yourself in trouble, its not likely we can help. Microsoft also offers all the same cautions as well when you go to their site.

(That said, if you're technical enough to try to install Windows 10 Technical Preview, you probably already know the ropes here.)

Naturally, as a vendor with lots of titles on Windows, we are really looking forward to Windows 10 and we'll be ready! Any and all feedback is welcome.

Sincerely,
Greg
