What is the difference and purpose of the 2 color correction modes? One is within the "video" editing tab that you can click on when looking at a clip. It has the options of color correction, speed/time lapse, variable speed, etc... The other is the filter "Video Tune." Both video tune and color correction offer adjustments to Hue, Saturation, Brightness, and Contrast. However, I've noticed a measurable difference in image quality between the 2. Color correction won't allow you to adjust the settings like Saturation and Hue very much without getting really blocky and unwanted artifacts in the image. However, Video Tune can be adjusted as high, and higher, without giving those unwanted artifacts. Everything still appears very smooth and detailed. I think I am using the color correction feature wrong, but I'm apparently not smart enough to know what its intended purpose is. Can someone tell me what the difference is between these two features and why there are 2 similar features?
Thanks.

Re: Difference Between Color Correction and Video Tune?
Which version of Video Studio do you have? I ask because at the moment I only have access to X7, and that does not have a specific filter labelled "Color Correction" -- though it has Color Balance, Brightness and Contrast, Hue and Saturation and a number of other filters dealing with colour. They are all part of the Corel filters that come with the program.
The only filter I have near the one you Call Video Tune is a NewBlue filter called Video Tune-up and I assume this is the one you are talking about. As I say, it is made by another company called NewBlue, and comes as an added extra in the VS Ultimate package. It does a lot of the things the other filters do, but the differences you notice are because they are made by two different companies. Really up to you to decided which you prefer -- but the NewBlue filters, while more difficult to master, do in my opinion produce better results...

Re: Difference Between Color Correction and Video Tune?
I've got x6 Ultimate. The particular filter I was referring to is the New Blue filter. I just tried Color Fixer Plus and it produced great results as well, just not as strong as New Blue Video Tune Up can go. The other color correction is not in the fx filters. It's the one that is part of the VIDEO tab, to the left of the ATTRIBUTE tab. It has very poor results in comparison, so I'm wondering if I'm just using it wrong.
