Hi,
I'm using PSP X6 and suddenly have a problem with the Clone Brush which I have not come across before.
I hope that I can explain this adequately, but instead of replacing the selected area (Left Click) with the complete content of the original area (Right click), it replaces it with a series of square dots which look like a grid. It suddenly started doing this for no reason, so I suspect I may have clicked something by mistake.
The settings I am using are: Hardness 100, Step 70, Density 100 Thickness 100 Opacity 100, Blend mode Normal, Continuous ticked.
I have to be missing an obvious answer somewhere!
Any help much appreciated.
Geoff

Re: Clone Brush problem
OK,
Just solved my own problem.
I hadn't realised that the Clone brush also relies on the Materials Palette. I set that to solid colour and all is good again!

Re: Clone Brush problem
Thanks for getting back here to tell us the solution. We, well, I, can't get enough reminders that the materials palette can also effect things in places that you might not expect it.

Re: Clone Brush problem
Yup, that's one of the cool things about brushes. They can use various settings. It actually makes for some cool effects. But just to be clear, as far as I know the texture setting is the only one that effects the result of the clone brush. If you had a gradient or pattern selected it wouldn't change anything. So you don't need a solid color, you just need to make sure you aren't using a texture.
