"An error has occurred while trying to read from the file"

Post by panda88 »

Hi guys, I really need some help. I spent all of yesterday on this drawing in PSP5 (yeah, I still use a version that old--I know how everything works in it, and I've never had any trouble with it, so I have no reason to upgrade), and saved it like I normally do, and thought everything was fine. But then this morning I tried to open the .psp file again to continue working on the picture, but it refused to open and gave me this pop up message: "An error has occurred while trying to read from the file". I also tried to open it in Gimp and PSP8 without any success. I had a lot of work put into this drawing, and I really want to be able to recover it if at all possible (even if it's just as a .jpeg--I'd still be able to trace over it and salvage at least some of my work). Please let me know if there's anything I can do to not have to start over completely from scratch. :(

I guess you didn't save periodically or have auto-save on as psp file. I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I can't help you.
