PSP X6 - Errors when saving images

Post by el_espiritu78 »

Hi, I have PSP X6 installed on Win7-64 system, both the 32 and the 64 versions. Both versions are creating critical erros while saving regular images in different formats. For examples: When using 64bit version and trying to save an image in PSP own file format I'm getting runtime error and the whole program shuts down.
Other example: When I use 32bit version and I'm trying to save an image as "jpeg" file it always saves it as "jp2" format and the filename always contains already the format ending "jp2" and when I'm trying to change it it has no effect at all.
I have the latest updates installed....

It's really a joke selling a program with such ridiculous erros and then asking for $19 to open a support ticket.

Is the install from a CD or a download. If from a download you might try downloading again.
Did you get it from Corel or another approved location?
I think there was another thread which mentioned a runtime error, you have searched for that on this site have you?
Some I found were:

I can understand Corel charging a $19 fee for its sttention with so called "bugs".
From the number of posts on this and other forums of bugs which are actually trivial lack of research problems eg complaining that they cannot get more than one image on the workspace and being told that Windows > Tabbed Documents untick will solve that. It would cost them money on an already small profit margin (< $100 program) to answer so many small user problems.
I have read elsewhere that if it is an actual bug (repeatable on many systems) that they will refun or not charge the $19. So the moral is check first that it is a repeatable bug on a number of systems (check with google, and on forum(s) ) before complaining to Corel.
I have X6 installed on 1 XP system and 3 win 7 laptops with none of the problems you have mentioned. I use internet explorer as my default browser, and update regularly for Java, Flasjh player, anti virus etc.

"jpeg" file it always saves it as "jp2"
Have you done a Save As and changed the save as type from JP2 JPEG2000 to JPG JPEG or are you saying it does not allow you to change the save as type.

Have you tried resetting the program to its default setting . Hold the shift key down as you start from the icon and say Yes to the reset to factory defaults.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867
