PSP 5 Picture Tube Issue

Post by brendakdale »

Nature of the problem:
I'm sure this is answered elsewhere and I'm blind, but I'm having trouble finding which file folder to install picture tubes into. I previously had PSP 2 on this machine, and upgraded to X5. When I download the corel picture tubes and frames, it default installs to a pspx2 directory, creating a new one which doesn't exist any longer. I know where to install the files I just do not know which folder to install them into. Thanks in advance for answer or link to where I might find the information.

Properties of your source files (format, file size, where did you get it?)
.tub files from Corel website.

What devices are involved and their mode of connection? NA

Project Properties NA

Output format NA

Error Codes NA

File > Preferences > File Locations
Click on Picture tubes, and that will show you what location and folder to put your picture tubes in. It is the one with documents in the address.

When PSP installs it creates a set of folders in Documents under the version number, ie: Corel PaintShop Pro / 12 / You will find a Picture Tubes folder. Always install tubes you download into this folder. Also, any other files you create or download, place them into these custom folders. Never put anything into the system folders / Corel /......

As Paul explained to you above, go to File, Preferences, File Locations. Scroll down to Picture Tubes. In the centre window ensure the folder is listed along with Corel's folder. If it isn't, click Add, locate the folder in Documents and click ok. If you put your picture tubes into categories, ie: watermarks, christmas etc., then you need to select a folder from the drop list. Don't lump all picture tubes into one folder.

Found it, but now I have another question:
Image

Which one of these do I use to install? I've noticed the Program Files has two areas.

Gee you have to read carefully.
In your case the top one which says C:\Users\Brenda\Documents\....

One way of testing this is to make a new mask / brush / Picture tube etc and save / export it and call it by a good searchable name eg XXXXXIC then search for that name, or in this case look in the two folders mentioned and see which one it goes into.
