Is there a way to extract text information from an old .pspimage file? I.e. font name, size and attributes --
I have the effects used saved in an 'effects file,' but can't find the font used....
I have PSP X3, X4 and X6

This will only work if you don't have the font you used installed. If you used vector text and kept the vector layers intact, you should be able to get the font info by opening the image. You'll get a warning if the font you used isn't installed and it will show the name of the font that was used. Obviously this won't help if you used a font that is always installed. If that's the case, you could ask someone else to try opening the file and see if they get the error message.

If it's still a vector, and they can open the file, won't editing the text show the currently selected font? So having the font installed or not shouldn't matter.
Now, if it's not vector text you could use a dedicated font website that can analyze images and give you potential font matches. But you'll have to save a copy as a JPG and make sure the text can be clearly distinguished.

If an effect has been applied to the text, it has likely be converted to a raster, therefore the information would be lost.
Then, the only way to retrieve that information will be with LeviFiction's suggestion.

Re: Old Image - What Font and effects Did I use?
You're right, LeviFiction. As soon as you click on the text with the Text Tool, the font list switches to the font that was used. I never thought to check there but then I rarely run into this issue. When I do, it's because I don't have the font installed and I get the error message.
