How to change Capture Location?

Post by sbudaj »

I am relatively new to VS7. I have been capturing old videos fromHi8 and DV8 to my computer.

I would like to change the folder location where the files are captured, but cannot find a way to do it. The Help file says this is possible, but does not say how. I cannot directly change the default location as it cannot be deleted or overwritten, and I can't find anything in the preferences to specifically set the capture folder location.

There must be some trick to it. Anyone know what it is?

Thanks.

In Preferences, on the first (General) tab, up towards the top, the default Working Folder address is given. Simply change that to where you want the Working Folder to be. Note that in the Burning module, when you open it, also contains a Working Folder -- click on the first icon in the bottom left of the burning screen. And again you can change that to wherever you want

Thanks.

So here is the weird thing. I changed that preference to the new folder on an external drive where I want the capture to occur. The new location shows that folder on the external drive as the capture folder in the capture screen, but when it captures, it still captures to the default folder!

What's up?

Well, I thought I would report back. After making the change and it showing up on the capture screen, I had to exit out of VS7 and open it again for the change to take effect. I did that and now it works.
