White Balance for Pentax K-5 Is Still Borked

Post by GoremanX »

When working on older pictures I've taken with my Pentax K-5, I get really screwed up White Balance control in AfterShot Pro 2. If I stick to "As Shot", then the picture looks reasonably close to accurate. But the moment I move any of the White Balance sliders even a single notch in any direction, the picture immediately turns to a sickly green. I need to crank the tint almost all the way up just to get the picture to look close to right again.

This has been a problem since AfterShot 1.x, and it's never been fixed. I've complained about it countless times. It's been corroborated by many people. It's downright insulting that this simple issue has never been resolved.

Opened up a case with Corel regarding this issue. It was subsequently "upgraded" through multiple levels until it got to "Engineering", and now I've heard nothing back in many days... this is really disappointing.

Still nothing... no-one is bothering with my support issue at all anymore. A new software update was released, and it doesn't fix the problem. This is the supposed "premium" support that's free for the first 30 days. They want me to PAY for this support?!?

I've requested a refund. Worst customer service ever. Someone needs to take the "Pro" off the end of the product name.
