Re: Videostudio Pro x7 project crashing when trying to burn
Hi Paul
And welcome to the forums
Can you confirm you are trying to burn a DVD and not a Bluray disc.
If the process fails at the same point then it would indicate a problem with the project at that point.
So what is in the timeline at 56%
I assume you are rendering the project in the burner module, this will create a mpeg2 file used to burn the disc.
Can you create that file from your project, with your project open in the timelines do Share create Video File for computer
Choose the Mpeg2 option
Does that also fail at 56%?
Make sure your project properties match your video files properties, Settings - Project properties- format avchd, I think….
To attach an image to your post
Right click a clip and choose properties
Alt+PrtSc will copy the windows details to your clipboard—paste this to an image editor and save the image as jpeg
The attachment options at the bottom of your post can be used to insert that image.

Re: Videostudio Pro x7 project crashing when trying to burn
While the video is rendering make sure you have the play button selected so you can visually see at what photo/video frame the rendering process is at.
When the process stops you'll be able to see the photo/video/transition file that is causing the failure.
This has happened to me a couple of times. At that point I remove the guilty object and render again to confirm it was the cause.
Then go back and add the object back (also replace the transitions on either side) and this corrects the issue most of the time.

Re: Videostudio Pro x7 project crashing when trying to burn
hello
Still struggling to burn project to DVD... I am rendering project in the burner mode.... I tried as you stated on the SHARE page to select the MPEG2 option prior to burning but still fails as soon as it hits the start of my 1st video (which are all showing as MPEG4 files on my computer).... you mentioned the AVCHD which I also tried burning using that option but still failed same time .... as per other reply - I tried taking my 1st video out of project and it had prev failed at 52% .. it simply got to the next video file and failed at 54% instead....
I have prev used an older version of Videostudio on my previous PC (prob version3) and never had problems like this before.. It seems just so fiddly... as before the project plays fine on my PC ...
any other ideas.........

thanks for your replies previously - got my brother in who's a bit more tecchie than me - found that if I converted my video files to mpeg2 using winX prior to importing them into my videsotudio project, it has burned to disc fine after........ so all sorted .........
