Rendered video not smooth
I hope someone might give me a little insight on what I can do to improve my video rendering. You can see my motorcycle toy run video on YouTube at http://youtu.be/kDGA_9U51Ys. What I had was two videos the main video was a .mov format, size 1920x1080, 24 bit 1920x1080, frame rate of 30 f/s, 11760 frames taken with a Canon 5D (my aperture was off a little also as the video was a bit washed out). The video in video was .MOD format (NTSC DVD), Video type MPEG2, 24 bit 720x480, 30 f/s, 11,430 frames, taken with a Panasonic SDR-H100. The main video, when viewed is slightly jerky and the motion is slightly blurred. The video in video is also similar but I expect that from lower quality video. I rendered the completed file as an MPEG4 1920x1080. I am using Video Studio Pro X6. Hope someone can help out here so I can smooth it out better in the future thank you. Thank you

Re: Rendered video not smooth
I downloaded the full 181MB HD clip off UT. By play and replay few parts in it, only at ~5:20 it was constantly not smooth.

Re: Rendered video not smooth
Hi
I downloaded the video from YT using the Torch Browser as:-
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1280 x 720, 30 fps
Frame-based
H.264 High Profile Video: 2434 Kbps, 16:9
44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 192 Kbps
As you say you created a 1920 x 1080 there seems to be some differences here, maybe re-coded by YT during upload or download?
Does the original Canon video show that poor quality, the first biker in red at 00:00:05:00 is terrible quality? (at a guess its “santa clause”)
Your Canon video is probably Mov H264 progressive (Frame Based), was it by any chance 60P,
the Panasonic SDR-H100 may be using Interlaced, mixing these may cause some quality issues, jagged edges etc.
Can you give more details of the original clips rather than what you created.
You may be best to create a Smart Package of your project, zip the folder and use a sharing site allowing us to download the originals.
OneDrive or DropBox may be suitable.
But yes that video is poor

Re: Rendered video not smooth
Thank you for each of your inputs into the video. One simple thing I haven't checked is that possibly my computer is a bit slow on streaming the video off of YouTube. I will have to try a different computer and browser to see if there is any difference.

The frame rate was 30 and i am beginning to think that the two videos are in some sort of conflict with each other. Wherefore I must seek if there is other areas besides frame rate that throws off the frame playbacks when combined. I realize that Santa was a little blurred as my aperture was off slightly washing out the video and making things look even more blurry as they went by than they should be. I have been using my Canon 5D for stills but am working on trying some video. 5D video is a little manual in using so I think my learning curve will be slow. I will try the smart package also to see if that helps. Thank you

I am not sure what you think i could do with all those values as I am not the most keen on all the ins and outs of what the values elude to in the editing. So if you could simplify the ideal that would be great. Thank you
Steve

Re: Rendered video not smooth
Steve, the data is just to show that downloads from UT can be totally different depending on the method of downloading.
Only you, who have the original uploaded file can tell who is more correct.

Re: Rendered video not smooth
Hi Steve
I agree with “asik1” in regards to downloading video, if I were to use RealPlayer download I am sure I would get completely different properties.
That is why I asked fro the originals as a Smart Package, we may not be able to improve things but can try?
Yes the Canon is a professional image camera with video capabilities, it does not have continuous auto focus, just once as you half press the shutter, although you can refocus during recordings with the button on the back of the body. It may well be the focus point being wrong but the video does seem to pulsate a little. (Oh a little slow to focus)
Certainly looks more in focus in the centre of the screen compared to the left hand side where the bikes seem to display as though motion filter has been applied?
I have a 7D which should record the same. Mov H264, but Video Studio cannot create Mov H264, we have no choice but to convert to another format, Mpeg4 or MT
Try rendering the main video to your chosen output, Using that in a new project add the insert video to render again to Same as first video.
