It has happen twice the last days that jpeg images doesn't show in 'Library' view. When I click the thumbnail of the jpeg do I only get the black background with a text: 'No Image Available' in the image window(raw files are visible both as thumbnails and images), if I switch to 'File System' is everything normal, so there is nothing wrong with the files.
Last time did it only effect files after a certain date in January this year, but now has it happen to the whole catalogue. The effected catalogue contains all my images from 1999 to this day, and the file count shows 436.078 files in 16.888 sub-folders, some of these files are xmp, and it should probably give around 200.000+ images in 870 GiB space.
I tried to reimport one folder with missing jpegs, the result was partly successful: all the jpegs was again visible, but now doubled – and when I shut down and restarted ASP, were they still doubled – but again: 'No Image Available'.
Last was everything back to normal after reboot of the computer, I haven't yet tried that this time.
Can the reason for this phenomena be that I have come close to an upper limit of images for one catalogue? I also have another catalogue in the library, containing work files, and there is everything normal, all the jpegs are visible both as thumbnails and images.
Anyone else seen this phenomena, and is there any solution to it?

Re: Jpegs disappear from catalogue view
Do the JPEG previews which show "No Image Available" in the view window have a tiny red question mark in the lower right corner (of the preview thumbnail)? This indicates a missing file (though the preview thumbnail is still in the catalog).
It's possible you changed the filenames in an external program. Reimporting the files would create new previews which reference the changed filenames. I don't know if changing any other properties of the original file, such as its creation date, would cause this. The previews with the red question mark can be removed from the catalog since they no longer point to the original filenames.
