VS Pro X7 hangs when rendering to MPEG4

I have just purchased and installed pro X7 to my Dell Inspiron together with SP1. I uploaded some files from my new sony cx330e, edited the clips (90secs) and added some transitions. I then tried to create an mpeg4 file twice. On both occasions it stopped at 34% and when I looked at the task manager (windows 7 pro 64 bit) the "application was not responding". Any advice would be gratefully received.

Welcome to the forums….
Can you give more details regarding the original video files, right click a clip and choose properties, you can take a snapshot of that window and attach to your post.

If the rendering fails at 34% what is in the timeline at that point?

When you do Share – Create a Video File… is the option to use same as first clip available (under Same as Project settings)
If yes does that also cause problems?

Thanks for trying to help. I solved the problem as the first clip I recorded on my camera was faulty. I started to edit each clip and the fist one failed at 99%. Once I removed it the other clips compiled.
