VS Pro X7 Ultimate Install Problem

I just upgraded to VS Pro X7, and went to install it...

But the Setup program itself refused to install, with an error message something like:

"Setup cannot install. There is a limit of 100 characters to the install path"--or some such.

I tried limiting the number of characters in the install [title] path, but kept getting that
same error message...

What's the way out of this dilemma?

Some thoughts….

I assume it’s a download not a disc version, if a disc, copy the entire disc to the pc and install from there.

The ultimate package come with two files, one for the main program and the second an Ultimate Bonus file, make sure you install the VSX7_Ultimate_PF.exe first

Create a new User Account on your computer having Admin rights, try to install using that account.
Right click the installation file and Run as Admin.

The Install program was a download.

And I did try to install the Install as Admin.

Won't shortening the Install path text enable the Install?

Are you trying to install to a location other than the default one which comes up when you run the setup file i.e. somewhere other than C:\Program Files [x64]? That could account for having more than 100 characters in the path...

No, now that I know it's only an install program, and can be removed later, I'd install it on C:\

But I'd install the program itself to F:\

So what is the path to the "install location"?

Why do you want to install the program on F:?

No problem to install VSX7 on any partition (mine is G:)
But the Ultimate extras need to be installed individually from the 2n'd disk to give them a different path.

** Vitasence can be install only on C:

Hi

The downloaded file is a “Self Extracting .exe file, running this will save its content to any location on your hard drive. (similar to extracting from a Zip File)

Create a folder on any drive (F for instance) and call it F:\My Corel Files

Now run the download file and choose that as a save location.
Files will be saved to……..
F:\My Corel Files\Corel VideoStudio Pro/Ultimate X7 Setup Files

You can now install the program using these files.

However you may be best to save to the default location on the C Drive, after installation to “F” you should be able to delete the Setup folder. If that’s what you wish to do?

Finally got VS Pro X7 installed on Drive F: OK (knock on simulated wood), after shortening the install path for the Setup files...

Meantime, you mention that the Ultimate Extras are on a second disc, and can only install on Drive C:...

However, I've only downloaded the Install program from Corel; I trust the Extras are separate downloads
from the Corel site?

And ditto Vitasense (wherever that is)?

Did you mean Pro, I thought you were installing Ultimate, can you confirm which version you have

For the Ultimate version……..
After purchase Corel would have sent a link via e-mail to download the files from their site, the main program is called VSX7_Ultimate_PF.exe (or similar) 2Gb
The extra content for ProDad etc is called VSX7_Ultimate_Bonus_x86 (32 bit version) 1.47Gb

Visit the Corel site to view your products and the recent purchases may show the download links, hopefully they are still active.

I have never installed to another drive so cannot answer your question regarding installation locations.
