how to not loose links when moving files to external drive

Post by Hans1234 »

I've made my first video by draging and dropping files from a folder on my computer straight to the timeline. Now my video is finished and I want to move everything from my hard drive to an external drive. When I do that after opening the VSP-file from te hard drive I have to reconnect the files one by one. Is there a way to avoid this?

Welcome to the forum!

How did you transfer the files to the external drive: did you just use Windows and transfer them? Video Studio itself provides another solution which should work better. In VS, click on File > Smart Package. This will create a package of all relevant files, including the VSP file and all video files in the project. You then transfer that package to the external drive.
