I had problems with many files (especially with nikon cp P6000 raw files) where PC-Noise Reduction did not work at all.
Then I noticed that that files are always very dark pictures (pictures where you really need noise reduction - and wavelet denoise was not strong enough). So increasing exposure - then apply PC-NR and switch back to the original exposure works for me.

unfortunately this works not all the time - the effect is lost "over night"
sometimes only one of the presets works like "night" - or "portrait"
sometimes PC-NR does not work at all!
