Hi Larry
I don’t know what is happening here, I did a search of Corels Knowledge Base and found a similar issue but associated with WordPirfect.
Interestingly only affects Windows XP, your profile shows you using that.
http://howto.corel.com/index.php/Corel: ... tion_Error
Does your error give any indication of an affected file??
Can you try running the program as Administrator, right click the X7 desktop icon and choose run As Admin

No does not give any indication of effected file, it seems that most files that have been modified or edited by me using videostudio 12 or the earleir versions I have used in any format wmv, mpeg, the xpro7 fails to recognise although it does recognize some files on my computer that have been edited, it also fails to recognize files that were created with Wintv were I can capture video directly from TV
to sum it seems the xpro7 is not recognizing most video files on my computer that have been edited and if I try and access it crashes... it will recognize movies downloaded from the net without crashing and works normally

Re: error message videostudio pro x7 ..crash
Hi Larry
That’s very strange….
Your profile to the right shows the pc using B drive, is that just an oversight and you have installed windows to C drive.
I am wondering if its just a windows issue, XP as far as I know is no longer supported by Microsoft, so no further updates, but are you running with the latest service packs?
I just don’t know what to suggest, I am sure others will be running X7 on XP, I am sure this has not been reported before?
Can you ask the question to Corel Support or Corel on Facebook
