PSP Pro V6 Crashing

Post by davy22 »

Hi,

I am having a terrible problem with a newly installed (and updated) paint shop pro v6.

My system is windows 7 Pro, 32 bit, with, intel i7 processor, Asus z97 Pro motherboard.

When I open PSP V6 I get a message from the ASUS bluetooth adapter that "FTP service is not found on target device. HUH?, whats that got to do with anything?, I just want to do some editing not go to any FTP service ! I do not understand why I get that. I have to cancel that message twice before using PSP.

After turning off the bluetooth adaptor, the program seems to work ok. For a while.

Then on subsequent boot ups, even with BlueTooth disabled, I get the message from windows that "Corel Pant Shop Pro V6" has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution, followed by the (unhelpful) "Corel Pant Shop Pro V6" A problem has caused the program to stop working. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Now when I syart the program it shuts down immediately.

I contacted what passes for "Corels Customer Support" which is almost non-existant and they told me that because it's OEM they can't help as the program "May" have been modified. I am told by the supplier that it has not and it's the same verison that I would buy from anywhere. They told me it's Corel's way of trying to get me to buy a new version.

So. here I am with a product that does not work, any suggestions anyone?

Regards,

Dave

First off, I would try resetting the program to its default state by holding the Shift key down when you click on the program icon to open it.

Where did you buy PSP from and does it actually say V6 or is that a typo (X6 being the real deal)? Or did it come preinstalled or included with something?
